I met Rebecca while working on a very special upcoming project for Grazia.it. As I sat across the table from her discussing details, I was seriously distracted by the thought of how much I wanted to photograph her! She's gorgeous, has a totally cool vibe, knows her business and has great style. Fast forward to a snowy day in back in December, and please meet my new friend Rebecca. Thanks for braving the elements Becca!!! To find out more about her...
Occupation:
Designer at Retrosuperfuture
Passion:
Dolphins
Hometown:
Stockholm and Viareggio (Tuscany)
Current Town:
Milan
Which is your Favorite City?
Stockholm
Favorite place to shop there:
When I'm there I like to shop for local brands like Acne, Carin Wester, Weekday and Byredo. I also love to walk around in the "Söder" area where you can find a lot of small boutiques and a good selection of vintage stores.
Favorite place to dine in there:
I like to eat Swedish traditional food and a classic is Ulla Win Blad, where you can eat the real meatballs that are the furthest thing away from Ikea! For great seafood, I recommend Mäster Anders.
What do you do to get your day started?
I'm always starving when I wake up so my first thing is to have breakfast.
Favorite Breakfast Food/fruit/:
I like to change quite often, but it always has to be very nutritious and healty. In the winter I usually have Oatmeal with cinnamon, tea and some fresh fruit. In the summer greek yogurt, muesli, fruit and juice.
Favorite Breakfast spot:
I like to take my time while I'm doing breakfast; during the week I wake up very early because I don't want to eat in a rush, it's like a ceremony for me. Also on the weekend I like to have a long relaxing brunch while I watch a good movie. So generally I prefer to eat breakfast at home, so I don't need to feel any pressure.
Describe your style.
This is a hard question, as I have done it before to myself without finding a real conclusion (ahahaha). I'm mainly a minimalist and that is in my roots, but I can also be ironic and colorful let's say more "All' italiana". My style is more contemporary, but I like to take some inspiration from the past, especially from the nineties.
What are your favorite brands:
Acne, Margiela, Alexander Wang, Jil Sander, Celine, Weekday
Any style rules (for instance you only wear black shoes)?
I think it's important to give the right attention to every detail, but I don't like when it looks too built. So never wear something that you don't actually feel for.
Where do you shop in Milan?
I'm very busy usually, and when I'm free I like to spend my time with my boyfriend and with my friends, so I shop a lot online. But one of the store in Milan where I know I can always find at least one thing that I would like to buy is Frip. Also Rinascente now has a good selection of brands after the renovation of the women' department, they carry Alexander Wang, Stella McCartney, Jil Sander and Kenzo.
What's your beauty routine?
Skin:
I only use pharmacy products for my skin care. I have all the Avène products from the cleanser to the day cream. For the body I use "Johnson's Baby Oil" I like the smell and it's the only product that hydrates my dry skin.
Where do you cut your hair?
When I cut my hair I always have to go back to my hometown where I have had the same hairdresser for years. She knows what I like, and she is not the queen of hairdressers that only does what she wants! That's why I trust her and I'm always satisfied when I walk out from her shop.
Nails and other personal grooming?
I'm a disaster with nails. When I don't have time, I do them myself and I always use a Nail Builder with Calcium and the "Cuticule Removing Pen" from Sephora. Otherwise I go to the nail salon on my street, they are great as they work until late and on weekends!
What do you do before you go to bed?
I drink an infusion and watch a movie or a TV series.
