I promise, I'm not transitioning to instagram-only posts. Lol! The genius packer in me left my camera USB cable back in Milan, and I can't download any of my images from yesterday. So as compensation for my scatter-braininess, I offer you an instapic of my latest shoe lust. These Nicholas Kirkwood pumps are total collage happiness! I don't know if I'll be able to wear them here in NY, have you seen the images of the snow that Nemo sprinkled on the city yesterday? Are you in town? Despite the wet and slippery streets and impossible traffic, I thought it was kind of perfect. Don't you? As for these beauties, I'm enjoying them here in my room dressed in Suno PJs and wearing lip gloss. Have a lovely weekend! xox, Tamu

I'm telling you, it's the small, cute things in life that make us happy. I was jumping up and down in the office today (probably like a lunatic) when I received Moschino's newest iPhone cover Luisa and FW13/14 menswear invitation. Talk about putting a smile on my face! Absolutely fabulous way to kick of Milan Men's Fashion Week. Thank you Moschino!!!

I thought I had solved all my travel-document dramas two seasons ago when I received a brilliant show invite-cum-passport and passport holder from the brand Hexa by Kuho. I no longer faced the risk of misplacing my passport, but what was I to do with my boarding ticket and any other travel related documents? From jacket pockets to the front compartment of my trolley, to the top pocket of my backpack, to inevitably not being able to find it at all, the inconvenience of the situations was getting old. Until now, thanks to my gorgeous travel wallet from Trussardi's newly launched capsule collection Travel Details.
Total love, especially because the range was designed to sustain the scientific research efforts of the Umberto Veronesi Foundation with regards to the health benefits of curcumin. Curcumin gives the gold color to the Indian spice Turmeric which is used in curries. It has been shown to exhibit antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties, and is considered a possible component in the treatment against diseases and conditions such as diabetes, arthritis, allergies, Alzheimer's disease and cancer. The scope of the Veronesi Foundation's research will be to test Curcumin's anti-tumor properties, with a specific focus on colon cancer.
There's nothing more that I love than chicness for a good cause. A perfect holiday gift, you can find the collection on the Trussardi on-line shop.
Lots of love from Switzerland! Tamu

He gave it to me as I was getting ready for lunch. He said, "mom, this is for you. Put it on last, after you have gotten completely dressed." OMG, I totally got teary eyed. Where do they come up with these things? It's nice to see that he's starting to share. He's given me a ton of little presents this week and gave his friend Sara his old skate board last weekend. Little precious, unexpected, thoughtful presents are the best. I'm glad he's learned that. Hope you're enjoying your weekend. XO, Tamu

Who needs dessert when there's Paula Cademartori? I love, want, and need this crocodile mini-handbag. It's crocodile, it's pink and it is sooo cute.

It's been a pretty rough week on my end: jet lag and achy bones on Monday, imposing work deadlines on Tuesday; a 2-hour-long traffic jam which resulted in an overzealous taxi driver tapping my car, slightly detaching my bumper and driving off with my headlight cap on Wednesday; a spicy-ramen noodle that flew in my mascara-defined left eye on Thursday (felt worse than sand and don't ask how it happened); and fresh mozzarella that spilled onto my navy cashmere coat this afternoon. So happy this week is over. And soooo happy that I picked up some Tata Harper Skincare products at TenOverSix last week when I was in L.A.
Made with 100% natural ingredients, Tata Harper's Revitalizing Body Oil and Hydrating Floral Essence are exactly the type of pampering that I needed to get through this week. I've been using predominantly natural skincare products for the last few years over concerns about the safety of the chemicals used in non-natural products.
I love the Revitalizing Body Oil. Even though my husband says that it smells like medicine, I find its fragrance dynamically refreshing. It gives me the little kick that I need in the morning to get my day started, and calms me in the evening before bed. And it works like magic. Not at all oily, it absorbs smoothly, leaving your skin feeling soft and velvety. I've been addicted since this Summer.
It's my first time using the Hydrating Floral Essence (Moisturizing Toner). So far I really like it. It's such a refreshing way to keep your face hydrated throughout the day, and wake yourself up if your feeling a little tired and in risk of your face landing on your keyboard at work.
Thank god it's Friday and thank goodness for Tata Harper Skincare. Have a great weekend! Tamu

Inspired by one of her daughter's toys and the first of a series of animals, Marta, co-founder of Atelier VM, gives us little charms to make us smile. So cute, I got it this morning and can't stop smiling every time it glistens on my finger. I'm all about sweet, tender things. Aww.

I think it's pretty clear that I love Prada any day. Vintage or contemporary. But, I especially love this dress because it belonged to my mother-in-law who bought it in the early 1990s. She gave it to me this Summer after recognizing the print from the FW12 collection. You could imagine how blown away I was by her gift. Especially by the fact that she brought it all the way to the Hamptons for me in case I wanted to wear it during NY fashion week. I wore it yesterday to my friend's son's baptism. I also plan to wear it soon with a pair of FW12 Prada or Miu Miu platforms, ideally green ones. Here I've worn it with metallic Manolo Blahniks, a J.CREW necklace and Wolford Neon 4O tights. Here's to thoughtful Prada vintage love and a rock star mother-in-law.

I love walking into shops and finding colorful new treasures, just like this beautiful bag that I found the other day at Calypso, East Hampton.
I new that I had to get it as soon as I saw it. When I walked over to have a closer look, I discovered that it was handwoven by women from the Wayuu Taya community, an indigenous group, also referred to as Guajiros, living in the Guajiran Peninsula located between Venezuela and Colombia. Proceeds from the sale of the bags, or "Susu"in Wayuunaiki, go the The Wayuu Taya Foundation, an NGO dedicated to helping improve the lives of the Wayuu people. This Susu is today's love because it's gorgeously made for a good cause.

It's a tradition of my husband to send me red roses for my birthday. I always make the biggest scene when the delivery man rings our door bell. Lots of jumping up and down and mega smiles. He (my husband not the delivery man) is so thoughtful and romantic, I have to show my appreciation in the most dramatic way possible.
P.S. I actually turned 36 yesterday, but the florist informed my husband that it's bad luck here in Italy to gift the actual number in birthday years of flowers when it's an even year. Although I'm not very superstitious, it's always fascinating to learn new ones. 35 or 36, these roses are stunning!

Here is the bling that I wore to my friend's wedding last month. Her wedding colors were Blue, white and yellow. I totally went "statement" with this set. It was a personal (until now) homage to Frida Kahlo or any other woman who likes to pour it on. I love both pieces and I'm already wearing them tons.

My best friend Saidah is getting married in one hour and thirteen minutes. Here's a little present that she gave to all her "muses," friends who inspire her and play a special role in her life. Yep, I'm a muse (smile). She has four sisters who will serve as bridemaids and maid-of-honor, but she also wanted to acknowledge her friends and thoughtfully created this special role for us. I don't know if she knows this, but she's one of the people I refer to when I say that my friends are my style icons.
Sai, you are one of the most amazing people I have ever met, you are like a sister to me, and I am so happy for you and K. You'll always be one of my muses. Especially if you are wearing those black lace Manolos. Love you to pieces doll!

My new summer favorite, Umit Benan's interpretation of Trussardi's classic bucket bag. So chic in linen and camel leather, the deep red shoulder strap is definitely the cherry on top. Perfect for any summer excursion: picnics in the park or on the beach, long weekend brunches and leisurely walks in seaside towns. I see it with white jeans, white linen dresses and even cut-off denim shorts. If you're also in love, you can pick it up at www.trussardi.com.
