Good morning Wednesday's Birds! Are you enjoying your Summer? Have you stacked up on goodies from your sales shopping? I've started with a bit here and piece there, but now that my son is on vacation from school and we are weekending on the seaside, I've really transitioned into Summer sales mode. Come on Birds, we've got 10 gorgeous Summer weeks ahead of us (even if the pre-fall collections have already hit shop windows). That's tons of days to looks fabulous. Here are some pieces that we absolutely need!!!

1 - I loved this season's N°21 collection, and this graphic top was a personal favorite. I'll be so happy  to get it on my body soon.
2 - As you probably have guessed from reading ATPB, I'm a huge fan of PJ dressing. So naturally this top by 3.1 Phillip Lim is everything for me. Right now, I could totally see myself tucking it into white slouchy pants.
3 - Acne's two-tone, assymetric, graphic skirt is a perfect way to show off gorgeous tanned legs.
4 - I know that you may think that this Alexander Wang look of a Leather Croc Embossed top and matching shorts is a bit edgy for me, but I daydream about it all the time. I would wear it with strappy medium heel or flat trekking inspired sandals.
5 - With all the amazing front tie-sleeve pieces on the runway this season, this Antipodium shirt dress is an awesome way to embrace the look.
6 - I fell in love with this Peter Pilotto top last week while styling my friend Paula Cademartori for a video. I had my eye on it the entire time, and I so want to make it mine.
7 - I've totally fallen for 10 Crosby Derek Lam while shopping the sales. These wide leg floral pants are my favorite from the Summer collection, and they've firmly placed the brand on my radar for fall.

Let me know your feelings on this selection, and if there is something else that we absolutely need to get our hands on!!

Happy shopping!!!

Ciao Guys! How are you? I'm on the train heading back to Milan after two inspiring days at the Venice Art Biennale. And while I'm loving the pieces that I picked for my last 7-lips installment, I'm already daydreaming about new pieces. Here's why I love them...
1- Have you ever seen me in anything cropped or revealing? No, right? Why you ask? Because after the birth of my soon-to-be six-year-old there has been so much to celebrate, with tons of delicious wine and yummy food becoming a constant part of my existence. Hence, my not so gorgeous, anti-reveal/crop anything abs. I'm totally O.K. with the situation though (wink and smile). That being said, the crop and cut-out looks that have been making their way down recent runways have driven me to the point of obsession. That white Balenciaga bra-top? Don't even get me started. That's a piece I would purchase (if there were any left) for the sole purpose of owning a thing of such refined and pure beauty. But maybe the tummy reveal is not so out of reach, and maybe I should be a little more realistic and start with baby steps. Like this super pretty floral dress by Suno NY. I like to think of it as the strategic reveal dress. It's cut out at the right height of the torso so that it covers your bellybutton and shows just the right amount of skin under your breasts. I also love the below the knee legnth and pencil silhouette (one of my favorites). Guys! I'm convinced! Finally a cut-out for me.

2- How cute is this CC Skye Love Me Knot bangle set? Perfect for layering with other favorite bracelets.

3 and 7-  As a print lover how could I not love a beautiful Erdem print? This wedgwood-inspired print blouse with touches of neon yellow and black is perfect for this season's blue trend and will look amazing with other power prints like these "Nallie" printed silk pants by Malene Birger. I'm totally obsessed with the palette!

4- I've been eying these Alexander Wang Agata glow in the dark sandals for a couple months now. My love of white shoes combined with a new-found fascination with pvc are pushing me to the point of obsession.

5- Maybe like you, I've developed a serious obsession for clutches recently. I mean, I've always used them, but now I find myself actively looking for them and not just for the evening. I especially love this one by Maiyet. The color contrast and gold accents are everything.

6- I was never a big fan of "mystical" jewelry, but I've steadily developed a feeling for the genre over the past few months. I think that seeing a few really strong pieces at my favorite jewelry store here in Milan spurred my interest. And as my fascination grows, amazing pieces like these earrings by the Australian based brand MANIAMANIA are constantly entering my radar. I know I would wear them all summer. In fact, I feel really warm, calm and peaceful with just the thought of myself on a beach with the light at sunset reflecting off the gold chains.

Hey there Pretty Birds,

Here's my latest 7-lips installment, just in time for the Venice Art Biennale (yeah) that kicks off next week. I've been obsessing about these pieces for a few weeks now, and I'm psyched that I'll be able to enjoy some of them in Venice.

From the top left:

1- Rome-based designer Stella Jean is known for prints inspired by her Haitian heritage as well as traditional Africa fabrics, but she also incorporates classic menswear prints like this blue and white striped shirt. Keep an eye out for her, she's one to watch. Find her on Moda Operandi.

2- I think that Stella Jean's striped shirt will look fantastic with Altuzarra's pali printed skirt. I absolutely adored the Altuzarra SS13 collection, and I'm so excited that I was able to get this skirt. You can find it on net-a-porter.

3- You can never have enough inspiration. My art of choice as you can probably guess is photography and I've been waiting for this encyclopedia of 20th century photographers
for the past few months. So excited that it finally arrived this week. Available at Taschen

4- Stripes, one of my favorite trends of the season printed on Lahssan for Façonnable's chic trench. What else could I ask for? And that's precisely why I'm obsessing. Find it over at the Corner.

5- I've been looking for a new statement piece of jewelry for the past few days (have you ever noticed the amazing jewelry worn by artists and art lovers?). This bracelet by artist-designer Hervé Van der Straeten screamed my name when I clicked on it. Say it all at net-a-porter.

6...7- These gorgeous Jimmy Choo pink gladiator/cage sandals will look amazing with Zara's floral print dress which I've been eyeing every morning while en route to drop off my son at school. My dear friend Nai and I are going to Zara this afternoon to get matching ones.

I'd love to hear what you're obsessing over. Shoot me a comment here or on facebook.

Happy Weekend!

In addition to my own current obsessions, I will be featuring the absolute must-haves of friends who inspire me. My first guest Natasha Goldenberg is very special to me because the number seven is also her favorite. She even has the digit tattoed on her left foot. To find out why and to see what she's currently obsessing about...

Text by Natasha: I decided that seven was my favorite number when I was a kid. It was just my imagination, nothing special at all. No birthday, no important date. I remember trying hard to find a real connection with seven, but I always failed. Until I suddenly met the love of my life on the 17th. We started to date on the 7th.  His birthday is also on the 7th. Can you imagine my joy when I found out that I was pregnant and that my due date was the 7th? And when the due date came around, nothing happened... And I was sad, like the date became more important than the baby. My only chance was to wait until the 17th. And when I go into labor on the 17th, I ask my doctor every hour to make sure I deliver before midnight. He had shabbat dinner that night, so he replied, "you will have the baby today because I have no time to stay here until midnight." And sure enough, my little love was born at 7pm.  And now I have even more reason to love the number seven.

Hello Gorgeous Birds,
I hope that you all had a lovely weekend. It rained all weekend here in Milan which gave me lots of time to obsess about this week's 7-lips post. Yeah, more incredible pieces to lust about! And here's why I'm lovin' them...
This week's list is bolder and brighter that last week's. We experienced some amazing Spring weather at the beginning of the week, and I'm so ready to break out the color and print. Wait, I always wear  color and print. But, I guess I can't wait to see this season's offerings in my closet, or obsess about them!

From top to bottom:
1. This gorgeous Mawi necklace reminds me of a favorite vintage pearl necklace of mine. I love to wear it with white button-down shirts for a prim and chic effect. This Mawi version will look amazing with this season's fresh print tops.
2.  I am so inspired by the color blocking on this Fendi handbag. I also love the color combo. And, the black stripe lends a sophisticated edge.
3.  I was lucky to pick up a pair of the Dries Van Noten plaid pajama pants this weekend at Excelsior here in Milan. But, they didn't buy the button down tops from the collection, so now I'm totally obsessing about completing the look with this floral version.
4.  I actually tried these Kenzo printed trousers on at Excelsior but had to leave them behind :-(. The fit is incredible. They're definitely on my wish list.
5. This striped Acne skirt is a continuation of my love affair with this season's stripes. Do you remember my stripe manicure? I'm also planning a striped-themed video, so stay tuned.
6. I was has in fashion paradise when I saw this Proenza Schouler stunner float down the runway. I adore its multi-media elements. I have a feeling that I will be obsessing over it for a long time.
7. I've recently started looking for the perfect pair of SS13 statement sandals. These Nicholas Kirwoods are telling me everything I wanna hear and more. What about you? Are you obsessing over anything this week?

Hey there Pretty Birds,
I would like to introduce 7-Lips, a new profile that I will be featuring here on the blog. What's in the Name? Well it all started with the revival of gold jewelry, especially necklaces and charms that reference iconic pop symbols like lips, wings, hearts, anchors, lightning, dynamite, arrows, stars and most recently at Kenzo, eyes. My personal favorite are the lips. Why?

KISSABLE LIPS: Well, I've been told in the past that I have beautiful lips (and you must know by now that I'm not in any way vain), but I do believe you should celebrate your best assets. And why not in the form of addictive prints and eye-catching jewelry? Some of my favorite lips include Nora Kogan's Man Ray Lip's and Prada's SS/2000 lipstick print. Here I am wearing a 2011 re-issue of the Prada print.

So where does the SEVEN come in? Seven is my favorite number. Considered magical, I've always lived my life in the grace of sevens. And no, I haven't been diagnosed with OCD, no counting to seven to confirm that I've turned the stove off. It's just a special number for me. For example, I was born in July and my son's birthday is 07/27/07.

So how did Seven Lips come together? I found this Jennifer Meyers lip necklace at Barneys about a year-and-a-half ago and this LuLu Frost "Code" pendant at Five Story last November. I didn't want to layer necklaces (not into tangling) so I just added the seven to the lips and realized that they were a perfect match. Don't they work well together? I rarely ever take the combo off, and after staring endlessly at it and constantly tugging at the seven, I came up with the name 7-Lips. When the term popped into my head, I immediately thought that it would be a cool title for a blog. Since I already have my hands full with this one, and encouraged by my desire to create interesting profiles, I've come to the conclusion that 7-Lips is the perfect name for a wish list of my or my friends' current obsessions. So to start off the series, here are my current Seven obsessions.

1. My son Piero Jackson rock climbing at Disney Land. The little love of my life, he never ceases to inspire me.

2. Polaroids by Helmut Newton and Guy Bourdin, inspiration for a soon-to-be launched project.

3. I've always had a thing for pink. I guess it's the girlie side of me. In fact, I've had to use major restraint over the years to avoid succumbing to the pink story at my favorite boutiques. But this season's powdery shoe delights by Christian Louboutin and Gianvito Rossi are totally pumping up my raging sweet tooth and I think indulging is my only solution.

4. Atelier VM will be the death of my wallet. I've been a shiny, lost cause from the moment that I walked into the jeweler here in Milan. On my radar this Spring are these two gorgeous rings. Can't wait to get them on my fingers!

 5. My Céline love has gone epic. Phoebe Philo designs clothes for a chic, modern and sensual woman. I love the silhouette of this dress, it's reference to Summer's raffia and marine netting is everything. The triangular transparency is my kind of sexy (I want to show a little cleavage this year, no problem). And I will never refuse a gorgeous pair of culottes.

6. Riddled by the guilt associated with buying too many toys for my son when I travel for work, I've begun to pick up baseball caps for him wherever I go. Souvenirs from the cities that I visit are my way off making up my absence while creating a sort of diary/collection that he can wear, and which will hopefully inspire his travel plans one day. And the fun part is that I get to wear them too. (Wink)

7. Skate shoes made their way back onto the fashion scene a few seasons ago. I remember my friends collecting Vans when we were in high school, my friend Martine Simon had a Mamba-worthy collection of colors. But it's these petrol Céline skate shoes and Vans for Kenzo Leopard print versions that have got me reeled in this season.

Let me know what you think of this series and feel free to post your obsessions on my Facebook Fan Page. I'd love to see what you're obsessing about.
